Growing into a Man of Prayer

I have been praying alot this year.  Maybe it's not alot for some but for me it has been alot.  I am praying about on average 1 hour a day and I haven't prayed that much for years.  I am thankful I am.

One reason is the bible calls me to it, but another reason is it's like breathing when I am tempted to worry, I am thankful for the Work of Grace in my life.

Here's the things I have learned this year about praying that have helped my prayer life

1) Keep asking friends / family what their prayer requests are and pray for them regularly.
2) Ask your friends and family for updates.   They will keep giving you more prayer requests if they know you are really praying
3) Be involved in people's life and get past the shallow nature of friendships
4) Keep detailed prayer lists
5) Keep an updated list of answers to prayer.   I have about 25 different answers to prayer in 2011 and this really really helps you keep praying.
6) Suggest to get together with others to pray
7) Intercessory/Thanksgiving/Praise/Repentence prayer is so important to keep them all up.

Ok so this isn't a life-shattering list, but it helped me out this year to really be more of a man of prayer.
